Sometimes we can be our harshest critic. We may experience a series of events that leave us feeling deflated and de-motivated, low in physical energy, and we may struggle to be positive with our frame of mind. Low energy creates low vibrations for our mind and body. In this state, we may start to believe the stories we tell ourselves - that we are either not good enough or someone else is the cause of our unhappiness. Either way, we end up lowering our vibration, over-analysing our thoughts, and drawing conclusions that don’t serve us well. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we gave ourselves a break from over-thinking, so we can feel more at peace, and love ourselves more? It’s the inner struggle for peace where we can feel like we’re coming undone - losing our clarity, forgetting what’s most important to us, doing things that are not aligned with our highest values and damaging our wellbeing. When our vibrational energy is low, we’ll resort to negative self-talk, poor habits, leaning towards seeking the comfort of familiar ways of thinking, communicating and behaving. Over-thinking can be our worst habit. Eckhart Tolle speaks of spiritual maturity as practising the art of being more present, more neutral, with less thinking and more conscious awareness. When we are overly controlled by our thoughts we become scattered, directionless, and confused. I can already hear you saying to yourself - but how do I stop thinking? We start with creating more calm in our life. A calm body leads to a calm mind, and a calm mind leads to peace in our heart and soul. Take a moment to breathe slowly. In a while, your body settles and your mind calms. As thoughts and worries arise, let them melt away - there is nothing to solve in this moment. With practice we can learn to discern between what’s within our control, and what is not. In time we turn our focus inward - we listen to our heart, and step-by-step, we begin to trust in our truth, giving ourselves more space to be present. This is self-love, self-compassion. Here - there is no room for guilt, only unconditional love. The world and all of it’s complexities will always exist, my friend. However, as we let go what is not ours to part-take in or control, we can return to a place of inner peace. Know you have all that you need within you. Let your worries and concerns drift away today, and listen to your heart and the higher wisdom of your soul. If the way forward seems unclear, let me know. Seeking the ‘Way of Simplicity’ is how we create wellbeing, inner peace and unconditional love, for a life of true abundance. With love and warmth, Rebecca Rebecca Gabrielle
