There is a subtle, yet powerful, difference between loving with conditions and loving without them. Conditional love often arrives with expectations, rules, and unspoken agreements — I’ll love you if…, I’ll accept myself when…. .  Over time this habit leads to a life of pain, restriction and disappointment.

Unconditional love, however, asks for something far simpler and far braver. It invites presence, openness, and a willingness to meet life as it is, rather than as we wish it to be.

When we unintentionally match the frenetic energy in our environment, our mind, body, and emotions can quickly become overwhelmed. Yet the real shift begins when we pause, tune in, and consciously choose to regulate our own energetic vibration instead of being swept into the collective rush.

How do I know which Inner Voice to Trust?

There are moments in life when our energy feels low, our direction unclear, and our motivation scattered. In these moments, it’s natural to reach for what we want - the comforting option, the easy option, the familiar option. It’s the voice that says, “Do the thing that feels good right now.” And because it sounds soothing, we often trust it.
But this can be a quiet trap.

What feels good in the moment isn’t always what supports our long-term mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual wellbeing. Sometimes the very things we convince ourselves we “want” are actually expressions of old habits - self-sabotage disguised as comfort, procrastination dressed up as self-care, or avoidance wrapped in justification.

We may hear that familiar internal whisper to hold back, but is this the voice we trust or is it the voice that can keep us circling the same patterns?

When we wake up in the morning, I’m sure most of us would rather feel happy than miserable. Yet, we don’t always feel that way.

Perhaps our first thoughts turn to yesterday’s mishaps, what didn’t go so well, why we’re not seeing progress, or why our relationships feel heavy at times.

When this becomes a daily pattern, it’s easy to see how it can lead to feeling depressed, uninspired, and apathetic about life. In this low energy state, we’re far more likely to fall into poor thinking and unhealthy habits that lead us nowhere good.

If this is you, you probably want to get off that beaten track, don’t you? You want to feel alive again - with purpose, direction, and meaning.

Are you frustrated and desperate for change?

When you know you are ready for change, it’s interesting how you can begin to feel a level of frustration beneath your cool and seemingly calm exterior.  However, the truth is, you know you are a ticking time bomb ready to explode.  

You may be feeling a low level of frustration, which can begin with irritations with your partner, resentment towards your boss or colleagues, anxiety that seems to surface at night, or waves of feeling disconnected, drained, or being ‘out of whack’ with yourself.

To reduce inner overwhelm, we may be tempted to control our environment to create more calm and certainty in our lives.  I get it - this used to be me.  It wasn't until years later I recognised the signs, and then the 'gold'.  To my disbelief - I was the one being judgmental!

Letting Go Control ~ Opening to Trust

Sometimes we can be our harshest critic. We may experience a series of events that leave us feeling deflated and de-motivated, low in physical energy, and we may struggle to be positive with our frame of mind.  Low energy creates low vibrations for our mind and body.

In this state, we may start to believe the stories we tell ourselves - that we are either not good enough or someone else is the cause of our unhappiness.  Either way, we end up lowering our vibration, over-analysing our thoughts, and drawing conclusions that don’t serve us well.  

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we gave ourselves a break from over-thinking, so we can feel more at peace, and love ourselves more?

Do you suffer from FOMO - that ongoing pursuit of 'happiness'?
After recently visiting an exhibition on the 'anatomy of happiness', I recognised how easily we can find ourselves chasing happiness like a moving target.


Our pursuit of happiness can be tied to achievements, possessions, looking good, being financially successful, or any number of pleasurable experiences. It can feel great in the moment, and we can feel justified we are adding value and meaning to our life. But are we really?

It doesn't take long before the addiction of 'gaining the perfect body', 'upgrading our wardrobe', 'seeking the ultimate partner', 'getting that promotion', or locking in that 'dream vacation' grinds us into exhaustion and we are back to feeling 'blah' again. It can feel like a never-ending cycle of going nowhere, or worse - that the pursuit of happiness is all down hill from here!  So, is it actually possible?

"The Sacred Art of Exhaling: Finding Peace in the Pause"

In the chaos and noise of modern life, we can easily find ourselves moving from one task to another without pausing. This constant activity can leave us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from our true selves. This is where exhaling mentally, physically and spiritually becomes so vital.

Exhaling, in the context of personal and spiritual growth, symbolises the importance of stillness and rest. Just as our bodies need time to exhale and release the built-up carbon dioxide, our minds and spirits also need moments of quiet and introspection to release stress and recharge.

Taking time to exhale means intentionally slowing down, stepping away from constant stimulation, and allowing ourselves to be present. It’s about embracing stillness, reflecting on our journey, and listening to our inner voice. This practice helps us reconnect with our true essence, gain clarity, and rejuvenate our spirit.

Incorporating moments of exhaling into our daily routine can lead to a more balanced, peaceful, and fulfilling life. It’s an essential part of our spiritual practice, reminding us that sometimes, the most powerful step we can take is to simply breathe.
